Our orchard is home to a variety of fruit trees, grapevines, and chickens. Fruit trees range from very young to very old and all have their own individual drip line irrigation from a well located at the barn and is dedicated to the orchard. Recently planted fruit trees include a number of cider varieties that were planted as 2-year old trees that we obtained from our friends at Western Cider in Missoula, Montana.
Also present within the orchard are Red Seedless Somerset and Worden grape vines, as well as between 35-50 chickens, mostly barred-rock hens, with some leghorn, salmon favorelle, and buff orpingtons rounding out the flock. We sell eggs regularly and an egg share can be arranged, please inquire (verdurepastures@gmail.com) if you are interested.
